Hello and welcome,
I’m Andrew

I am a psychologist working in West Perth, Western Australia.

I have worked in Mental Health for over 10 years, both within private and not-for-profit sectors, supporting people experiencing a wide variety of complex mental health conditions and emotional issues.

I am passionate about and highly experienced in, assessing and treating mood and anxiety disorders (such as depression, generalised anxiety, social anxiety disorders and OCD), personality disorders, developmental and complex trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder, attachment issues and other psychological issues such as low self-esteem/issues with self-identity, suicidal ideation, self-harm behaviours and emotion dysregulation.

I pride myself on being a warm and attuned psychologist. I aim to provide my clients with care, support and compassion while helping them develop a clear understanding of their mental health issues and the factors contributing to these issues. Additionally, I work collaboratively with clients to utilise evidence-based treatment to not only facilitate a client’s recovery but also help them create a life worth living.

How I can help

While I work predominantly from a Schema Therapy framework, I also am trained in and utilise Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness based therapies to treat clients.

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychological treatment that has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders, and severe mental illness.

  • DBT, a form of cognitive behaviour therapy, is designed to help people change unhelpful ways of thinking and behaving while also accepting who they are. It helps you learn to manage your emotions by letting you recognise, experience and accept them.

  • Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on helping patients to behave more consistently with their own values and apply mindfulness and acceptance skills to their responses to uncontrollable experiences.

  • Mindfulness-based stress reduction, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), dialectal behaviour therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) are some mindfulness-based interventions currently utilised in therapy.
